DESCRIPTION: Latino 101 is a seminar for business executives, senior managers, nonprofit directors, and public agency leaders.  In California where Latinos represent 35% of the population, successful business and community leaders must understand the unique opportunities to engage and leverage the potential of Latinos.  This four hour workshop will provide key insights about engaging the diverse Latino communities of California.  Participants will receive valuable demographic profiles that can assist with outreach, recruitment and engaging Latinos for success. Examples of "best practices" for recruiting and retaining Latinos in the workplace will be illustrated. And, participants will have opportunities to hear important perspectives about the cultural values that shape the Latino experience. Your workshop facilitators are Drs Maria Hernandez and Santalynda Marrero, and Tom Brown.
